There is always time for kindness

I found myself in a strange mood today, I'm not sure what came over me.  I normally don't write about subjects like this because I don't want people to feel like I'm preaching at them, but just stick with me will ya?

The last couple of days, I've kinda felt like crap...had a migraine and just felt yucky.  Today I had to run an errand for Alan, he wanted me to pick up a cheesecake for someone's birthday at his work and bring it up there during my lunch hour.  Now I didn't have much time, so I had to haul ass.  I went to the Harris Teeter near my work, they did not have shit, so I had to go to another Harris Teeter which put me even further behind on my time.  I was hurrying into the store, starting to walk past this car that was parked in front of the door when I saw this old lady trying to get out of the passenger side.  She was having some difficulty getting out of the car, although she was trying her best.  Something in me made me stop.  I walked over to her and offered my hand and helped her get out of the car.  She looked up at me surprised, but just smiled from ear to ear and thanked me for helping her.  The driver had gotten out of the car to assist her also and she thanked me also, I told them both "You're welcome" and went on about my way into the store to do what I needed to do.

Now, I'm not telling you this story so you can tell me how sweet that was or how kind I am - please don't.  It was a random act of kindness, and normally I wouldn't tell anyone I even did it.  I tell you this to demonstrate that it only takes a moment of your time, even when you're in a rush, pushed for time, stressed out, pissed off, sick, whatever....to do someone else in this world a kindness.  So many of us have tunnel-vision (myself included) that we don't always see or want to see when someone might need our help.

So many of us have become so jaded, thinking "well nobody ever helps me, why should I reach out and help anybody else?"  That's not the point!  You don't give to get something back.  That is being selfish.  We're not in this world to live in our own separate bubbles.  We interact with each other, why should we not help each other up when one of us falls?

Anyway, that is my two cents.  Sorry if this is too soap boxy for ya, it's my blog...I can write what I want so there!  HAHA!  (LOL!)  In all seriousness, I just felt like I needed to get this out, it's just something I needed to write about today.  Thanks for humoring me.

SPIDERS!!!!! EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

We all have our phobias of creepy crawly critters.  Some  ppl can't stand snakes, or mice, or other equally creepy things.

My biggest creepy crawly thing that I can't stand are.....

SPIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just can't stand them!  I have a whole host of reasons as to why I hate spiders

  •  The webs....ever walked into one by accident?  EW!  Gets all in your hair, and then there's a chance of getting a spider on you!  Double EWWW!!
  •  All of the legs - they have too damn many! It's just unnatural!  They are made for crawling on you creepily with all those damn legs!
  • I see them crawling around and I'm all like.....THEY'RE OUT TO GET ME!!!!!!!!!!!
  • The jumping - did you know some of them JUMP?  Holy shit! Those are creepy as hell! I hate those fuckers!
Now a story for ya.  I was at work one day, just doing my job and turned around to get something and I saw the biggest spider I have ever seen.  I think he looked a little like this:

This picture I borrowed for illustration purposes from Hyperbole and a Half, Ally has a similar irrational fear of spiders.

My spider looked a lot like this except mine had hairy long legs.  I learned later it was probably a wolf spider.

I completely FREAKED THE FUCK OUT at work.  I screamed, jumped up and ran away from my office.  Someone, I don't know who, came over and killed the Mutant Killer Ninja Terminator Spider so that I could get back to work, but I looked over my shoulder for a month at least to make sure he didn't come back to life or that his ghose didn't come back to get me.

I don't fuck around with spider's y'all.

Now that I'm done writing this post, I'll have nightmares tonight I'm sure.  Great...........

National Donut Day June 3rd (and yes I know I'm late)

Yesterday was National Donut Day, and I must say that it is now my favorite holiday.

Why, you ask?

Well, let me tell you the back story here.  Last night, I got off work and met my hubby and another couple for dinner. We went to this restaurant, The Mason Jar for dinner.  It was okay, kinda home cooking kinda food.  My bladder is still being a bitch and I was in pain so I had to eat pretty plainly.  I ordered a grilled cheese sandwich and hot chips for my dinner.  Yeah, I know....YAWN!  Boring dinner, right?

After dinner, we decided to swing by Krispy Kreme.  They were offering free donuts for this holiest of days, so we swung by for our free tasty treat.  I chose their newest donut, the cookies and creme donut.  It has crumbled oreo cookies on the top and is filled with cookies and creme filling.  I decided to bring it home and have it with some milk.  It was FABULOUS AWESOMESAUCE!  I had dreams about that donut last night.

That is why, National Donut Day is now my favorite holiday.

Baby Food Diet? What the hell!

Okay, I know I write about Lady Gaga but she just offers up too many good topics sometimes.
The latest I found was an article on Fox News, where they reported that she is living on a baby food diet.

She is supposedly on the "goo diet" in which she eats only infant puree instead of grown-up, adult meals.  I'm not going to ask the obvious..."Is this chick insane?"  We pretty much know the answer to that question, but baby food?  Really?

Can we start calling her Lady Goo Goo???

Even crazier, the story goes on to say that baby food sales are going up because women are buying baby food to TRY this stupid-ass diet!  I say to those stupid bitches....ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND?  I mean really! Come on ladies, use your head for God's sake!

Stay out of the Goo Goo, and get your mind out of the Poo Poo!
