Cheesy Blogger submission - Watch Your Step!

This post is for a link up y buddies over at the Cheesy Bloggers.  They are calling for posts about clumsiness, injuries, uncoordination, you name it!

Now, I am a very clumsy person.  I am constantly finding bruises on me, half the time I don't know what I did to get them.  I stub my toes on things at least once a week, I've had my hand slammed in a car door, fallen up and down stairs, and I could go on and on.  Add in the vertigo I get all the time from my fibromyalgia, I'm just an accident waiting to happen.

The story I wanted to tell you guys is pretty funny, although I certainly didn't think so at the time.  This happened about 6 years ago, shortly after my husband and I moved into our house.  There is a cemetary that I pass on the way to and from work, that happens to be where several of my relatives are buried in.  This cemetary where my grandmother is buried in is not far from where we live and I was missing her one day, so I decided to swing by there after work to visit her gravesite.

Now it had been a long time since I had visited her gravesite so it took me awhile walking around to find her, but eventually I did.  I sat and talked to her for awhile, prayed and eventually got up to go to my car.

I had parked kinda far away, since I had not remembered where she was, so I set off across the grass to my car.  Next thing I know, I stepped into a hole that was just big enough for my foot to fit into and twisted the hell out of my ankle.  I heard a loud *SNAP* and screamed in pain as I fell down.  It took me a minute to work my foot out of the hole, but once I did I tried to get up.....wasn't happening and I was still way too far from the car for me to be able to crawl there to drive home.  What the hell was I gonna do?  No phone for me to call anybody, I was stuck there in the middle of a graveyard.  Just then, a few people came by to visit their loved ones, so I shouted over to them that I needed help.  A man came over, and I told him what happened.  He offered me his cell phone and I called Hubs.  The man was kind enough to help me to my car so I could drive the few miles home, and the Hubs and I went off to the ER.  No break, thank God but a severe sprain.  The *SNAP* I heard was the tendon.  They gave me drugs, wrapped me up and gave me crutches which I stayed on for 3 weeks.

At least it was still light out when this happened.  I don't know what I'd have done if it had gotten dark.  It would not have been a pretty sight, let me tell ya.

Yikes! I feel your pain. No really, I do. :-P Fibro sucks. If you're not getting dizzy or weak and falling, then your having a spasm and knocking stuff or yourself over. I've broken coffee mugs just by setting them down to heavily because my depth perception was off due to occular muscle spasms or some such thing... thrown things clear across the room not meaning to even let go of them never mind throw them. Fun stuff. I found you on Cheesy Bloggers - I submitted my story, too. :) http://rainbowsnpuddles.blogspot.com/2011/08/in-which-i-flaunt-my-spectacular.html

Ouch.

Bet the site of you on the ground initially freaked out those other people. They probably thought you were a zombie or something.

I still have you beat. Earlier this year, I broke my leg bowling.

Yes, you read that right. Fell and snapped the Fibula. It sucked.
